This is a special post dedicated to this brave boy. This summer, he was participating in a State race, and he fell during practice. Shockingly, he ended up with a serious break above his elbow and we were off in an ambulance.  It was a terrifying day, but all ended well after his surgery (and after a second ambulance ride). That was 7 weeks ago. Today, he's feeling great. He really, REALLY wants to get back on his bike again. But, he is still in the healing process and we are looking at beginning some physical therapy so he gets his full extension back.  What a process. All of it. Especially (this mom) getting over the trauma of that day and the fear of another injury. And then I see him on his bike, and I know that he must continue as he wishes. Whew. Roller coaster of emotions. Or as a BMX mom would say,
its been an emotional rhythm section. ;)
